Aarhus University is to hold a conference on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The conference will bring together key players in our continued cooperation with the outside world to get deep and broad knowledge out into society. Connie Hedegaard will be the keynote speaker at the "Partnerships for a sustainable future - on the UN Sustainable Development Goals" conference, which will take place on Monday, 4 February.
A lot of employees are currently getting phone scam calls from foreign telephone numbers. Be cautious about taking calls from numbers you don’t recognise, and don’t return missed calls. You could be cheated and scammed.
In a new study, researchers from the Danish iPSYCH project demonstrate that people with the highest genetic propensity are over two and a half times as likely to be treated in a psychiatric hospital for depression compared to people with the lowest propensity. This knowledge could be utilised to strengthen preventative efforts for those who are at risk.

Three PhD students from Health at Aarhus University share the sought-after Fogh-Nielsen scholarship. The scholarship totals DKK 125,000 and is awarded to outstanding PhD researchers.

"I have just completed a round of very exciting visits to the studies administration units at the four faculties. The PhD Association at Health awards the annual JCD Prize to a particularly committed PhD supervisor. Only PhD students can recommend candidates and select the winner; this year the award went to Professor Ole Mors from the Department of Clinical Medicine.
Professor and genetic researcher Jakob Giehm Mikkelsen from the Department of Biomedicine is about to become a member of the Danish Council on Ethics –at a time when many researchers and laymen have strong opinions about genetic engineering. However, Jacob Giehm Mikkelsen is personally more interested in arguments rather than personal viewpoints – and he does not feel the need to have his own DNA analysed.
