Social programme for new international students

Together with Studenterhus Aarhus Aarhus University will offer a social programme along with the introduction to the university and your programme.

The social intro programme is hosted by Studenterhus Aarhus/ESN Aarhus – if you have any questions, feel free to contact international coordinator Sigrun.

ESN Aarhus & Studenterhus Aarhus are looking forward to welcoming you to Aarhus! We will do our best to make sure you get a great introduction to your new city and meet a lot of new people. Some of these events are open for all, and you can just show up, others require that you book a ticket, so we can ensure a good experience. You can see under each event if it requires sign up.

AU intro Day

Meet us in the basement and for socializing in the Lakeside Auditoriums (Søauditorierne).
When the intro day is over, you can join us in our bar at Nordre Ringgade 3, 8000 Aarhus.

Welcome Quiz

Doors open: 19:30
Quiz: 20:00-22:30
Test your knowledge of your new home – and that of your new friends.
Teams of max. 8 – find your team in advance or we will put you together as you arrive.
Expect fun facts and great prizes.
There is a small bar where you can buy beverages.
No sign-up necessary, but doors will close when/if we reach full capacity.

Friday Bar

15:00-18:00, drop-in
Socialise, play games, celebrate your first Friday in Aarhus. Our volunteers will introduce you to some of their favorite games, and maybe initiate some speed-friending, so you can get to know the other students.
No sign-up necessary, but doors will close when/if we reach full capacity.

Welcome Party

Kick off the semester with the biggest international welcome party in town!
Free entrance and good prices – plus our all-time favorite DJ.
We will have a lounge area if you want to just talk to your new friends and play some board games.
No sign-up necessary, free entrance.

Board game café and cake challenge

Join for Danish hygge of all kinds – we will set out our favorite board games, and kick it all off with our famous cake challenge, where you and your team mates compete in making the most creative lagkage.
19:30-20:30: Cake Challenge in Stakladen
19:30-22:30: Board games and hygge
There will be a small bar, where you can buy your beverages.

Aarhus City Treasure Hunt
 

Aarhus & the Café, Studenterhus Aarhus

14:00-20:00
Get to know your new city with our big treasure hunt. This treasure hunt will lead you by all our favorite places downtown and give you some tips on how to make the most of your stay in the city. And of course, no treasure hunt without a big treasure for the fastest and most creative. 
Come with a group of max. 8 or we can put together groups when you arrive.

Brabrand Lake Walk
 

Andebroen, Brabrand Sø

13:00-17:00
Join us for a breathtaking hike around the beautiful Brabrand Lake.
Put on your best hiking shoes, clothes to fit the weather, and come say hi to the ducks, as we walk the 10 km around the lake.
