Intro Days Programme for all Arts Exchange Students

Welcome Event Sunday 21 August for all new international students

Who: All new international students at AU

Time: Sunday 21 August, 12:00-16:00

Place: On campus, by the lakeside auditoriums, Bartholins Allé 3, 8000 Aarhus C

Host: International Office, AU

Content:

This is your first day on campus! We will welcome you and you will get a great chance to meet your fellow students and to be introduced to your new university and city, as well as Danish culture and language.

Presentations (You will receive the invite and sign-up links via e-mail): 

- Welcome to Aarhus University, the city of Aarhus and Aarhus Studenthouse (45 mins) (sign up for 12:00 or 13:00)

- Introduction to Denmark, Danes and Danish (45 mins) (sign up for 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, or 15:00)

- Q&A coffee with current students (20 mins) (sign up for 12:00, 12:30, 13:00, 13:30, 14:00, 14:30 or 15:00)

- Be introduced to Trust and what it means for Danish culture (short film with AU Professor Gert Tinggaard Svendsen will be shown several times during this afternoon)

Before, after or inbetween presentations:

- Visit our handpicked info- and student relevant booths 12:00-16:00.

- Buy food, coffee and cake at our AU Cantine especially open for you on this day from 12:00-16:00.

- Enjoy fun games and relax hanging in the University Park with your fellow students and the Studenthouse.

- Come by the AU Water Bottle booth to pick up your free Water Bottle

The day is 100% FREE for you! But bring money for food or bring your own lunch/afternoon snack.

Monday and Tuesday - Online CPR Q&A Event

Q&A session about social security number etc. (optional)

Who: All new international students at AU

Time: August 22 and 29, 9:00-10:00 AM

Place: Online, link will be sent by mail

Host: International Office, AU

Content:

If you have questions about getting your social security number, you are welcome to drop into this Q&A session, where we will be ready to answer your questions.

Thursday

  • 10:00 - Study Culture at The Faculty of Arts by Associate Professor Mathias Clasen
  • 10:45 - Information meeting about examinations and introduction to  Study Centre Arts by Ciara Ryan  - followed by Q&A
  • 11:15 - Introduction to AU Library
  • Break
  • 12:00 - Introduction to clubs and societies at The Faculty of Arts by Amanda Krogsgaard Timmermann - followed by Q&A
  • 12:30 - Introduction to life as a student at The Faculty of Arts by current exchange students and international students

Friday

  • Meet your Danish Buddy and your Buddy group
  • Campus tours (on campus) Learn more about the campus area and facilities by joining your Buddy group for a campus tour 
  • Socializing in Aarhus City
