The gender and sexuality topic gets more and more present in the public all the time. Therefore, it is more present than ever to visit the gender museum in Aarhus called KØN, which translates to 'GENDER'. Until 2021, the gender museum was called the women's museum but changed their name to include all genders and sexualities. The museum also includes a very cosy café where you'll be able to grab a cup of coffee and a piece of cake afterwards.

On the roof of the shopping center Salling, located in the middle of "Strøget" (the shopping street), there is a beautiful rooftop garden. Here you can have a drink, a cup of coffee or buy some food or snacks. It has an amazing view all over Aarhus and a great atmosphere. Definitely a must see when you visit Aarhus!
Aarhus Docklands (in Danish: Aarhus Ø) is a new district in Aarhus, and it is famous for its amazing architecture. The construction of the district began in 2008, and since then a lot of famous buildings have been created. You need to see “The Light House”, “The Iceberg” and much more!
Are you interested in history or archaeology? Or do you just like beautiful nature and architecture? Then you should definitely visit to Moesgaard! Moesgaard Museum is a special museum for archeology and ethnography in Højbjerg, in the south of Aarhus. The majority of the archeological collections are Danish, but also contain changing special exhibitions from around the world. The museum's exhibitions present a number of unique finds from Denmark's antiquity, including Grauballemanden, which is the world's best-preserved bog body, and the weapon sacrifices from Illerup Ådal, which testify to Iron Age power struggles and martial arts. The collection also counts seven local rune stones. The museum also presents the exhibition "The Life of the Dead", which tells how different cultures treat the theme of death. It might now sound like the most interesting place for children, but Moesgaard Museum puts a great effort in making it a great place for children as well with a lot of fun activies.

ARoS is one of the largest art museums in Northern Europe and it is a must-see when visiting Aarhus. ARoS offers international exhibitions, contemporary art and the famous "Rainbow" on the roof, which gives you the best view of Aarhus. The exhibitions change regularly so it won't be the same if you have visited it before. And you don't have to be an art expert to enjoy this visit. ARoS is also a great place for children, who by the way get in for free. Every Saturday, ARoS Studios on the third floor host fun art activities for the whole family, where you get to paint, play with clay or other fun things.

Marselisborg Forest is a 550 hectares (1,400 acres) forest to the south of Aarhus City. Marselisborg Forests runs along the coastline of the Aarhus Bay in a hilly terrain with steep slopes and deep gullies, especially at the shoreline. There are many traces of prehistoric activities here and the landscape have been covered by woodlands for thousands of years.
Riis Skov forest
Riis Skov is located in the northern part of Aarhus City. It is a small forest on around 80 hectares and is frequently used by all of Aarhus’ citizens to run in, walk in, buy a to-go coffee in and enjoy the beautiful view of Aarhus Bay and Aarhus Ø. Riis Skov is also the place for one of Aarhus’ most popular beaches, Den Permanente bathing establishment. It is the perfect place for walking with its paths and small hills! There are a lot of benches and places to take a rest too.

We recommend taking a trip to the street marked at Ingerslevs Boulevard! Beside the amazing atmosphere, it contains lots of stalls with various of different food experiences. There is everything from flowers, fruits and vegetables to cheese and meat. But the best part is the newly baked bread, the creamy ice cream and the freshly brewed coffee.
Address: Ingerslevs Boulevard 1, 8000 Aarhus C
Time: Every Sunday from 09:30 to 16:00.
