If you are a new student at AU and come from an EU member state, you can apply for housing through AU Housing. This includes rooms in dormitories and shared houses. Submit your application as soon as possible, and you will receive a response within a week. Applying is free, and you can decline a housing offer without any cost.
Please note that AU Housing and Student Housing Aarhus are two different organizations with separate terms.
AU Housing exclusively offers furnished rooms, and the rental contracts are temporary (up to 6 months).
You can find information about our accommodations here.
Please note that most housing for the spring of 2025 has already been rented out, but there are a few available units here and there across the various dormitories and shared houses.
If you receive a housing offer for a location that is not your first choice, you can live there until you have enough seniority with Student Housing Aarhus to receive a better offer.
The different dormitories/shared houses have varying notice periods—typically 4–6 weeks, though some are 3 months. You can find information about notice periods and other practical details here.
If you wish to apply for housing via AU Housing you have to fill in an online housing application. In order to do this, you first have to access https://mit.au.dk/ (Self-service system).
If you already have an AU ID, please use this as your user ID in order to log in.
If you don’t have an AU ID, please create an account in the Self-service system. Find directions on creating a Self-service account her
