Information for AU partner universities

In 2011, Aarhus University launched the extended summer programme "AU Summer University". The programme consists of a portfolio of courses taught in English at Bachelor's or Master's level within the fields of Culture and Society, Media and Communication, Business, Management and Economics, Psychology, Political Science, Law, Health, Natural Science and Technology.

In 2020, we are offering 103 english taught courses by AU lecturers and invited international guest lecturers from all over the world. All teaching at AU Summer University is based on current research and has a strong international perspective. The close link between research and education ensures the quality and depth of the courses.

AU Summer University welcomes Danish and international full-time students, exchange students and free movers. Class sizes range from 20-50 students. In 2019, more than 2790 Danish and international students decided to spend part of their summer taking specialised, intensive courses in Aarhus. 97% of the evaluated students recommended the programme to their friends.

Along with the academic programme, we offer accommodation services, visa services and a social programme for both lecturers and students.

AU Summer University applications process for students opens 15 January 2020. The application deadline is 1 April 12 Noon CET. Courses that are not full during the first intake will be open to new application 1-5 May 2020.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the AU Summer University programme for 2020 has been adjusted! Some courses will be offered fully online and others will go ahead as planned until further notice.

For partner universities, our nomination deadline and application deadline is prolonged until 2 June. Please note that ONLY online courses are available for international students (students who live outside Denmark at the moment).

Here you can find more information about the nomination and enrolment process for partner-university students.

Aarhus University has received many highly qualified applications for the offered positions this year. We thank all applicants for their interest. Aarhus University will open up for new positions in July for positions in 2021. The deadline for the offered positions is 15 August 2020.
