Circle U. Language Tandem

All AU students with an interest in improving their foreign language skills can register for the language tandem program which is organized jointly by Studenterhus Aarhus and  the International Center as part of the Circle U. alliance. We will try to connect you to a partner who is a native speaker in the language you want to improve and who is interested in learning your native language. In this way you can both improve your language skills. Further, you will get to know fellow students, expand your network, share your culture, and help another student. 

For international students, this is also a great opportunity to meet Danish students, explore the local culture, and start learning some Danish. While prior knowledge of Danish is not required, an interest in learning it is encouraged and expected. By joining the program, you can connect with local students, get to know Aarhus better, and take your first steps in the Danish language. Both exchange students and full degree students are welcome.

Register via the link on this page. If we find a match for you, we will invite you to a kick off event, where you can get to know your assigned partner or group.

After that a language tandem is uncomplicated: Together with your tandem partner or group, you agree when, where and how often you want to meet. You can also decide for yourself which topics you would like to discuss with your tandem partner. This allows you to be largely flexible and to improve your language skills matching your fields of interest. 

• We expect that particpants signing up have reflected on how much time they can devote to this and are ready to commit once assigned a partner or group. 
• We welcome all languages, so please do sign up even if your native language is not among the major languages with most demand. We'll do our best to find a match, so why not give it a try?
