Get started with AU Job and Project Bank

AU Job and Project Bank is Aarhus University's job bank that you can use to recruit students. In the job bank, you can post jobs such as full-time jobs, student jobs, volunteer jobs or part-time jobs. You can also post internships and projects for students in the job bank.

Who can you reach with AU Job and Project Bank?

The job bank is aimed at students at Aarhus University and graduates who have completed their education and are new to the job market.

Does it cost anything to use the job bank?

It is free for companies to use AU Job and Project Bank. Therefore, it does not cost anything to post a position if you go to the job bank yourself and follow the instructions.

What jobs can you use the job bank for?

You can use the AU Job and Project Bank for the following types of job postings:

  • Job postings: From student jobs and volunteer jobs for students to full-time and part-time jobs for graduates.
  • Internship postings: Different types of internship postings. At the university, internships are both voluntary (also called project-oriented) and, in some programmes, compulsory.
  • Project proposals: For example, Master's theses, semester projects and other projects relevant to students.

What type of profile should you choose in the job bank?

You can choose between two free types of profiles in the job bank, or you can create both types. Please note that you cannot use the same email address for both profiles.

The two types of profiles are:

  • Recruiter profile: Gives you access to creating all types of postings. If you only need to post one or a few jobs per year, this solution may be good for you. For the recruiter profile, it would make sense to use your own work email address. Create a recruiter profile.
  • Company profile (recommended): Gives you access to creating all types of postings. In addition, your company will have a permanent profile that will be visible whether you have active job postings or not. The profile needs to be filled in and maintained, but gives you greater exposure to students. If several people in your organisation have created a recruiter profile, you will all be able to refer to the company profile in your specific job postings. For example, the company profile can be created with a functional mailbox as an email address. Create a company profile.

How long are posts online for?

Regular job postings are online for 30 days, but can be freely extended. Internship and project proposals can be online for up to 365 days.

Tips for a better job posting

1. Clear communication & culture

Use simple language and emphasise company culture and values to attract graduates who value a good working environment and clear messaging.

2. Responsibilities & tasks

Be specific about job responsibilities and tasks so graduates can identify with the role and see a clear connection between their skills and the company's needs.

3. Development & career

Clearly describe job development opportunities and career paths that show commitment to employees' long-term growth and success.

4. Support & flexibility

Offer mentoring and flexible working hours to support graduates' transition from study to work.

5. Transparency & process

Be open about salary and terms and provide a clear application process so candidates know what to expect and how to proceed.

Tips for a better recruitment process

1. Who are you missing?

Get an overview of what you're missing in your team and assess what skills a future candidate needs in order to do the job.

2. What are young people looking for?

Graduates care about what the position means and that the company takes social and environmental responsibility. They want good working conditions, fair pay and the opportunity to grow. Try to keep this in mind when looking for new people.

3. Fair and effective interviews

To keep interviews fair, make sure you have the same questions ready, keep the interview structured, be clear about what you're looking for, avoid bias and use a concrete point system.

4. Company culture is important

Be aware of the workplace culture and create an environment where everyone feels at home and respected. You can sell yourself on that!

5. A considerate rejection

Tell people straight away if they don't get the job so they don't stress about it. If you say no, give them some tips on how they can do better next time - it's good practise and keeps your reputation at the top.
