We strongly recommend that you start looking for housing well in advance — ideally 3–4 months before your studies begin.
If you wait until you receive your final admission offer, you'll be competing with thousands of Danish students, and the housing market in Aarhus is under heavy pressure from August to October.
What you can do:
Sign up with Student Housing Aarhus as early as possible — it's free.
Sign up with Aarhus Bolig as early as possible — it costs DKK 100–400.
Check out options on Boligportal.dk
Book a room at Basecamp
If you're offered housing from October or November, accept it and find temporary accommodation until you can move in — for example at AirBnB or elsewhere..
If you receive housing offers from private individuals, be very cautious — scams are unfortunately common.
Please note that, unlike in some other countries, there is no tradition in Denmark of arriving in Aarhus and quickly finding a place to live.
Unfortunately, while this might seem like a realistic approach, we strongly advise against it.
