Student traineeships at AU

If you are interested in a traineeship at Aarhus University, please read about establishing contact and arranging a traineeship with the department or researcher you are interested in. Aarhus University does not maintain a list of available internship positions.

Traineeship at Aarhus University

Traineeships provide students from other universities the opportunity to work and learn at Aarhus University for a period of time.

Arranging a traineeship at AU begins at your home institution. Your university must sign written agreement for your traineeship at AU. Note that trainees at AU are not enrolled at Aarhus University, are not able to register for courses, and will not receive a transcript.

If your home institution is located in an Erasmus Program country, you may be eligible to apply for a traineeship grant. Read about the Erasmus Traineeship program here In some cases, an Erasmus traineeship may be combined with writing your thesis.

Your traineeship must be arranged directly with a department, professor or supervisor at Aarhus University, and it is your own responsibility to find an AU contact who is willing to host and supervise you. You can search for researchers here.

Non-academic services, such as student cards, buddy/mentor services and introductory events at AU are not available to trainees. For information regarding housing options, please see below.

Trainees must observe applicable Danish immigration laws. Please carefully consult New to Denmark for the conditions that apply to you.
