Center for Humanities Computing Aarhus (CHCAA) has an opening for a student developer and project manager (SD-PM) to work in research projects and support from 1st January 2021 to 31st December 2022. CHCAA is a research and development unit at Aarhus University that collaborates with researchers from arts and humanities (Faculty of Arts) at Aarhus University.

Your job responsibilities
As an SD-PM in CHCAA, your job responsibilities include:
  • writing well-developed and testable code using the software development practices of CHCAA,
  • work with stakeholders to develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to their research data,
  • co-manage our project portfolio and
  • maintain web-pages.
SD-PMs are expected to participate in CHCAA's common activities (e.g., weekly core and project meetings).

Your competences
Beginner- to intermediate-level knowledge of Python and Git experience are mandatory, knowledge of the SciPy ecosystem will be advantageous (otherwise both must be learned), and prior experience with project management tools are useful (e.g., Jira or Clubhouse).
We expect you to be fluent in oral and written English. You must be a student at Aarhus University during the period of employment.

Terms of employment
The Student developer is expected to work app. 10 hours per week.

Terms of employment and pay are regulated by the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and PROSA, the Association of IT-professionals.
