The Department of Biomedicine at Faculty of Health at Aarhus University invites applications for a position as a Laboratory Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technologist within Cancer Research as per 1 April 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is a permanent full-time position.

Your job responsibilities

As Laboratory Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technologist, your primary tasks are to ensure the smooth functioning of the lab and contribute to impactful cancer research. In your daily work, you have a close interaction with competent colleagues.
Your main tasks will consist of:
  • Coordinating daily laboratory activities and maintaining functionality.
  • Managing inventory, procurement, and invoice handling.
  • Culturing, subculturing, and maintaining cell lines under sterile conditions.
  • Extracting DNA and RNA and performing PCR and qPCR analyses.
  • Conducting experiments using NanoString CosMx panels and assisting with protocol development.
  • Supervising and mentoring students and junior researchers.
  • Ensuring the lab adheres to safety and environmental standards.

You will report to the Head of Department of Biomedicine.


Your competences

You have a background within biomedical research or a related field and experience with molecular biology techniques, including PCR, qPCR, and nucleic acid extraction. Competence in cell culture work and familiarity with advanced technologies like NanoString CosMx. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. A proactive and collaborative mindset.

As a person, you have good interpersonal skills, are inclusive and team-oriented and able to contribute to a good work environment.

We expect you to be fluent in oral and written English.

Terms of employment and pay are regulated by the collective agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and relevant collective agreement.
