The relevant themes include representation theory of reductive groups over local fields, geometry and analysis of locally symmetric spaces and affine buildings, and spectral analysis of dynamical systems. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in harmonic analysis and representation theory over both archimedean and non-archimedean local fields.

Applicants should have a strong record of original scientific research at a high international level, and should have a PhD degree in an area related to representation theory of reductive groups or spectral theory.

The Department of Mathematics currently employs 19 permanent scientific staff members in the traditional pure mathematical disciplines, Algebra, Analysis, Geometry and Topology, as well as 13 people in Stochastics and 4 people in the Centre for Science Studies.

Application procedure

Shortlisting is used. If you want a referee to upload a letter of reference on your behalf, please state the referee’s contact information when you submit your application. We strongly recommend that you make an agreement with the person in question before you enter the referee’s contact information, and that you ensure that the referee has enough time to write the letter of reference before the application deadline. Unfortunately, it is not possible to ensure that letters of reference received after the application deadline will be taken into consideration.
