Student housing

The former patient hotel has been converted into 132 new student residences with room for approx. 170 students while maintaining the architectural style and spirit of the building. The halls of residence includes approx. 40 1½-2-room units and approx. 92 studio flats.

Residents of the former Patient Hotel live centrally in the new University City, which is expected to contribute to a vibrant and active campus environment.

The existing underground basement under the square in front of the halls of residence is beeing renovatede and will have room for 1000 bicycles. The bicycle basement is expected to be ready for use in 2025 when the new university main street has been established.

Location
The halls of residence is placed in the middle of the University City right next to the new main street. The future residents will thus be living right across from Aarhus BSS’ Department of Management and Department of Economics and Business Economics. The departments will be moving from Fuglesangs Allé to the University City in 2025.
Forskningsfondens Ejendomsselskab (FEAS) is responsible for the rentals, and all residences will be reserved for students at Aarhus University. The 1½-2-room flats will be prioritised for couples, one of whom must be a student at Aarhus University.

Timetable
The first residents moved into the building in the summer of 2022.
