Physical and technical infrastructure on campus

In connection with the technical and physical infrastructure of AU’s construction and development projects, work is being done on:

  • Solutions for how the University City can continue to receive deliveries, post, and waste collection, etc., bearing in mind that, as part of the ten principles for the university of the future, it will be closed to regular car traffic.
  • Solutions related to water, heating, electricity, IT and gases, etc.
  • Projects that will ensure accessibility and cohesion between the different areas on campus, for example by establishing new passages under Nørrebrogade.
  • Projects that will create varied and strategically located outdoor spaces.
  • Developing ways of using the IoT (the Internet of Things) to collect and convert data into knowledge about specific topics. The goal is innovation and development, and the data will be included in the research project Smart City.
  • Planning a postal centre at the heart of the University City to reduce car traffic in the area.

Timetable
Since the physical and technical infrastructure in current and future projects must be usable in the entire area that constitutes the university’s central campus, it is necessary to plan projects on an ongoing basis.
