Trend of increasing applications to Aarhus University holds
This year, Aarhus University received 14,213 Quota 2 applications, a slight increase over last year. 2017 also saw a slight increase in first-choice applications, according to preliminary figures.
With 14,213 Quota 2 applications to Aarhus University, the number of applications increased again this year. The number of applicants who have indicated Aarhus University as their first choice rose as well. This year, 5,140 applicants selected a degree programme at Aarhus University as their first priority. The past six years have seen a 25 per cent increase in first-choice applications to Aarhus University.
“We’re pleased that there’s such great interest in Aarhus University – and especially that so many applicants place an education at Aarhus University at the top of their list. We know from experience that these applicants are often highly motivated, which means they perform well on their degree programmes,” states Deputy Director Kristian Thorn, AU Student Administration and Services.
The final tally of Quota 2 applicants, including applicants to the individual degree programmes, is expected to be available in mid-March.
Key figures for quota 2 applications from the preliminary tally for Aarhus University:
- 14,213 Quota 2 applications – an increase of 2 per cent over 2016.
- 5,140 applicants selected Aarhus University as their first choice – an increase of 1.3 per cent over 2016.
- In the period 2012-17, the number of Quota 2 applications increased by 15.5 per cent.
- In the period 2012-17, the number of Quota 2 applications indicating Aarhus University as their first choice increased by 25.2 per cent.
In 2016, Aarhus University admitted 12 per cent of applicants through Quota 2.
