Aarhus University offers more than 50 Master’s programmes taught in English and European students are more than welcome here.

You can find specific admission requirements on the page of each programme.

The deadline to apply for EU students is 1 March. 

Housing

Aarhus has plenty of student housing avalable for European students.

Many new dorms and apartment buidlings have been built and students can easily and for free apply through Student Housing Aarhus.

Funding and student jobs

Living costs

Scandinavia and Denmark is often considered expensive to international students, but student housing in Aarhus is often very affordable compared to other countries and cities and services such as medical treatment is free of charge. Student life

As an international student at Aarhus University, you will never be alone. You will be part of a group of more than 4000 international students, representing more than 120 nationalities. Still, it might be different for student life in your home country. First of all many non-academic activities such as sports and music are not organized by the university. Still, there is a ton of activities for students in Aarhus, so you will be sure to have an amazing time here. Try your department's Friday Bar, with cheap beers and where you might even run into one of your professors, or join Northern Europe's biggest student-led event - the famous boat race or go on trips to the rest of Denmark with other international students like yourself.

A place to start is Studenterhus Aarhus which offers activities for all students in Aarhus. These include a weekly International Night, trips around Denmark and much more. It is also possible to get involved as a volunteer and thereby grow your network in Denmark.


Health and safety in Denmark

Denmark is a very safe country to live in and to be a student. It is widely cited as one of the world’s most liveable places and according to the OECD, it has the world’s highest level of income equality.

Being an international student at Aarhus University you will benefit from free healthcare and a lot of other services. Should you become sick Denmark has one of the best healthcare systems in the world furthermore, Aarhus University Hospital has been voted the best hospital in Denmark and ranks 11 in the world according to Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals list.
