Birgitte Nauntofte has many years of leadership experience from both the private and public sectors. She took a degree in dentistry from the Copenhagen School of Dentistry and went on to work at the University of Copenhagen for 27 years, where she held a variety of academic and leadership positions, including a professorship and serving as vice-dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences.
She then went on to serve as director of the Novo Nordisk Foundation for 12 years. She currently serves on a number of boards, including the boards of the BioInnovation Institute Foundation (BII) and LIFE Fonden.
Nauntofte has also served on research councils and served as a expert consultant and motivator within education, research and innovation in Denmark and abroad.
