Volunteer lecturers wanted for the Book a Researcher scheme
Researchers can now register a lecture in the Book a Researcher programme – a Danish Science Festival initiative that provides an opportunity for everyone in Denmark to receive a free visit from a researcher in the week beginning Monday 24 April (week 17).
Book a Researcher aims to create dialogue between researchers and citizens, and everyone working with research – from professors to PhD students – is welcome to register a lecture. You are free to determine the focus and content of your lecture, and you can decide for yourself the location in Denmark for your lecture and when it should take place during the Danish Science Festival.
In 2016, almost 300 researchers from all over Denmark took part in the scheme, and more than 350 lectures were held in schools, and at workplaces, libraries and associations.
You must register by Friday 24 February 2017 at the latest. Read more and register for Book a Researcher.
Dissemination workshop in Aarhus
Videnskab.dk has taken over the secretariat work for Book a Researcher this year, and those enrolled in the scheme are therefore invited to a dissemination workshop in Aarhus on 14 March. Here the staff will share their many years of experience in popular science communication. At this workshop you can get specific tools to use when you hold your lecture during the Danish Science Festival. There will also be a workshop in Copenhagen on 20 March.
The workshop in Aarhus takes place from 14.00 to 17.00 on Tuesday 14 March 2017 at Studenterhus Aarhus, Preben Hornung Room, Nordre Ringgade 3, 8000 Aarhus C.
To register for the workshop, send an e-mail to bestilenforsker@bestilenforsker.dk and state that you would like to attend the workshop in Aarhus or Copenhagen.
