This year's best young diabetes researcher comes from Health
Diabetes researcher Rikke Hjortebjerg from Aarhus University has just received one of the Danish Diabetes Academy’s 2016 awards.
Rikke Hjortebjerg received the “Young Investigator Award” from the Danish Diabetes Academy. Rikke Hjortebjerg is 29 years old and a PhD student at the Department of Clinical Medicine – Medical Research Laboratory.
Rikke Hjortebjerg’s supervisor, Professor Jan Frystyk, calls her “a star” and highlights not only her research in to growth hormones and diabetes, but also her ability to share her knowledge. For example, with the lectures she will give on her research into growth hormones at conferences in both Brazil and Israel during November.
The Danish Diabetes Academy was founded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation in collaboration with the Denmark’s universities and university hospitals. The academy’s purpose is to improve the quality of Danish diabetes research, among other things, by supporting and providing inspiration for the most talented young researchers.
The award includes a cash prize of DKK 25,000.
