Talented and energetic director of studies says farewell
On 1 February 2018, Cecilia Ramlau-Hansen hands over the position of director of studies for the health science Master's degree programmes and the professional Master's degree programme in clinical nursing to Kirsten Beedholm. After six years with central focus on the framework for the department's study programmes, she will now immerse herself in her own teaching and research.
Professor Cecilia Ramlau-Hansen has been director of studies during a time where a great deal has happened. New study programmes have been added, while others have been adjusted and fine-tuned. As director of studies, Cecilia Ramlau-Hansen has been the driving force behind the development of the Master's degree programmes in health science and is one of several committed enthusiasts involved in the Master’s degree programme in nursing.
On top of this, she has worked with the recruitment and retention of students, including taking the initiative for projects that increase the completion rate, for example by giving students the opportunity to refresh their maths skills. She has also been behind the project to structure joint elective courses and methodological courses for the three health science Master's degree programmes.
"Cecilia has made a big difference to the department, to our teaching staff and to our students through her work as director of studies. She is talented, energetic and full of initiative. She has also succeeded in leaving a big impression on our study programmes with her sharp focus on quality, professionalism and interdisciplinary collaboration. We owe Cecilia a big thank you for her efforts," says former department head Klavs Madsen.
The position as director of studies is instructive and challenging
For Cecilia Ramlau-Hansen, the decision to stop as director of studies has not been easy. However, she is looking forward to having more scope for other exciting tasks.
"I have learned a lot about how to make and run study programmes at the university. The work is complicated and challenging and has been really exciting to be involved in. I have enjoyed collaborating both up and down and across the management tiers with students, lecturers, degree programme directors, other directors of studies, the department management team, the dean's office and HE Studies Administration. I will definitely miss that," says Cecilia Ramlau-Hansen.
Cecilia Ramlau-Hansen has been director of studies since 2012 and is now passing on the baton to Associate Professor Kirsten Beedholm from the Section for Nursing.
