Take a sneak peek at the health innovation of the future
Does the healthtech concept hold water, and how can its commercial potential be realised? Learn more about business ideas, innovation processes and funding opportunities at Health’s Medical Innovation Day 2020.
On Thursday 8 October 2020 the faculty will hold the fourth edition of its Medical Innovation Day. This is where health researchers meet – in a corona-friendly way – with representatives from foundations and the healthcare industry to test new ideas and discuss innovative solutions for the healthcare challenges of the future.
There are still places available for staff and students with an interest in healthcare innovation and a desire to learn more about turning research into business, and who do not want to miss out on an obvious networking opportunity.
Registration is via the website – no later than Thursday 1 October 2020.
Keynote speaker from Forbes 30 Under 30 list
This year's keynote speaker is researcher, entrepreneur and founder of the medico company Prediagnosis, Fatima AlZahra’a Alatratchi. She is an assistant professor at Roskilde University, where her research takes place in the interface between nanotechnology and medicinal- and molecular biology, and for which she has won several awards and grants.
In 2019, Fatima AlZahra'a Alatratchi made the American business magazine Forbes coveted 30 under 30-Europe list, which hails the three hundred most influential people under the age of thirty in the fields of finance and science. She has also given a TEDx Talk in Aarhus on using bacterial communication to predict pathogenic activity. Her talk has been viewed more than 1.4 million times and is subtitled in nineteen different languages.

Tech vs. pharma
In keeping with tradition, the day also includes a friendly researcher battle, at which selected Health researchers pitch their research ideas in front of a panel of investors and entrepreneurs. The panel challenges and qualifies the concepts, process and business potential, and names a winner of the best idea and presentation at the end of the day.
As something new, the researcher battle, which is rightfully called the Innovative Ideas track, is divided into two sessions: a pharma section and a tech section. This year, the researchers will receive feedback from the Innovation Fund Denmark, ONSET Ventures, JIB Consulting Services and NLC Health, among others.
