Researcher from Aarhus new president for EPOS

Bjarne Møller-Madsen from Aarhus University and Aarhus University Hospital has been elected as president of EPOS (European Paediatric Orthopaedic Society). He was elected to the post at the association's annual congress in Marseille in April.

During the coming year, Bjarne Møller-Madsen can add the title of president to his business card. At the European Paediatric Orthopaedic Society's annual meeting, the decision was taken to appoint the Aarhus-based researcher for 2015-2016.

"I'm pleased to have been chosen. It’s a great recognition to receive and it is very special to know this has been decided by my colleagues," says Bjarne Møller-Madsen, who is clinical professor at the Department of Clinical Medicine at Aarhus University and senior research consultant in paediatric orthopaedics at Aarhus University Hospital.

EPOS was founded by five paediatric orthopaedic surgeons in 1981. The first meeting was held in Paris with twenty participants. In Marseilles, more than 600 orthopaedic surgeons participated.

"The association works closely with our affiliated society in America, the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America, POSNA. In 2016 we will be holding a joint congress in Barcelona and we expect more than 1,600 participants," says Bjarne Møller-Madsen.
