Research grant for breast reconstruction after breast cancer

With the help of DKK 1.5 million from the Novo Nordisk Foundation, Tine Engberg from Aarhus University and Aarhus University Hospital can bring her research and the hospital’s treatment options up to an international level for the benefit of patients requiring reconstruction following breast cancer.

Research Coordinator, Senior Hospital Physician and Associate Professor Tine Engberg has received the Novo Nordisk Foundation's VP Scholarship for her research project focusing on optimising breast reconstruction after breast cancer and on improving patients' quality of life after the cancer.

The grant gives Tine Engberg – who is a medical specialist in plastic surgery – and her fellow researchers the opportunity to consolidate their research and take the lead with new techniques for reconstruction after breast cancer, among other things by using tissue transfer.
