Registration for the PhD Cup is in full swing – do you want to take part?

For the sixth time, the most talented communicator among Denmark's newest PhDs will be found when DR, Information and the Lundbeck Foundation hold the annual PhD Cup. If your PhD dissertation was approved during the course of 2017, you still have time to register.

Since 2013, newly graduated PhDs have had the opportunity to compete in a discipline, which often tends to take the backseat for the young, ambitious researchers – namely knowledge dissemination. Getting the research ‘out there’ and making it accessible to a wider audience can be quite a challenge. Therefore, the competition honours bright new talents who succeed not just in carrying out solid, socially relevant research but also in sharing their results with the public.

Watch live recordings and read about previous finalists. A number of researchers from Aarhus University have previously taken part in the PhD Cup – and in 2014, an AU researcher won the competition.

If you have submitted and gained approval for your PhD dissertation in 2017, you can register for the competition and get the chance to test your communication skills.

Thirty participants are selected and five of them end as finalists in the big final show which is shown live on Danish television from the DR Concert Hall. The panel of judges always strives to select finalists that represent the four main faculties of health, natural science, the humanities and social sciences.

You can register for the PhD Cup 2018 here – the deadline is 31 January 2018.
