Olaf Dekkers appointed honorary professor at AU and AUH

The Dutch researcher Olaf Dekkers has been appointed honorary professor in endocrinology and research methodology at Aarhus University and Aarhus University Hospital.

The Department of Clinical Medicine at Aarhus University and the Department of Clinical Epidemiology at Aarhus University Hospital have appointed Olaf Dekkers as honorary professor in endocrinology and research methodology.

"My research deals with the methodological aspects of studies in internal medicine. Every single research question requires a new methodological approach and my goal is to find the optimal approach," explains Olaf Dekkers.

The reason for this is that the validity of the results of a study are directly related to the validity of the methodological approach employed.

Olaf Dekkers works at the Leiden University Medical Center in the Netherlands. In 2014 he and his family spent seven months living in Aarhus and he is looking forward to seeing the city again and to the collaboration between Aarhus University and the Leiden University Medical Center.
