Noteworthy results about NSAIDs
The attention from international media was immense when researchers from Department of Clinical Epidemiology recently published their results of a study on NSAIDs and the risk of atrial fibrillation in the renowned British Medical Journal. The study shows that among 1,000 new users of NSAIDs, four to seven extra cases of atrial fibrillation will appear per year.
PhD student at DCE Morten Schmidt was interviewed about the study by the BBC in Britain and the ABC in Australia. Besides, the results made it to the front pages of several large newspapers in Britain, Norway and Denmark as well as being posted on numerous webpages.
