News on the construction process

Unfortunately, there are still problems with the construction, especially with the work of the carpenters. We therefore expect both a delay and the project to be more expensive than planned. Best estimate for relocation into the Skou building: The start of 2018.

News on grant applications

The department's part-time fundraiser André Walter has prepared a figure for important deadlines for grant applications based on which sources the department receives the most support from. See here. Comments and suggestions can be addressed to André or the undersigned.

News on VIP positions

Maria Andreasen is employed as assistant professor in cell biology and histology.

Mikkel Vendelbo is employed as a 50% associate professor in pharmacology.

Søren Degn is employed in a tenure track position in Microbiology/immunology.

Monday the 28th of August at 9-11 there is the opportunity to meet the Danish Free Research Foundation (formerly the Free Research Council). PhD students can learn to think in business

On 6 October a Medical Innovation Day is held. It is a working group with Thomas Vorup-Jensen organizing the first Medical Innovation Day. Registration deadline: 31. August.

Two meetings on EU support opportunities

 

September 11: PERSONALIZED MEDICINE AND BIOMARKERS, H2020 European Health Brokerage Event (organized with the French Research Attachés and Biopeople). The Commission participates. In addition, a delegation of French researchers. Registration: h2020frenchnordicday.b2match.io. Note that it takes place in Copenhagen 11th Sept. and can accommodate 60 people.

 

Leadership development courses for researchers are offered in the autumn

AU HR, Development & Working Environment offers an international management development course for researchers with managerial responsibility in October. The course is aimed at research leaders with international or Danish background. The four course modules are programmed in the period from October 2017 to March 2018, and interested can read the English-language course discussion on the employee side. The price for participation is 36,000 kroner. If there is interest, the department management will consider total or partial funding.

Update your PURE profile with and new photo

In October, a photographer arrives at three locations at the department and takes new pictures to PURE. You can also get help updating your master data. Your personal profile is often the first to appear in a Google search. It is therefore important that the information is correct and the image is well-liked.
