The study shows that immune markers on monocytes in the blood of patients with REM sleep behavioral disorder, a prodromal form of Parkinson's disease, correlated with neuronal and immune changes in the brain, supporting a cross-talk between brain and periphery during the disease. The article entitled "Monocyte markers correlate with immune and neuronal brain changes in REM sleep behavior disorder" is published in P.N.A.S. You can read the article here.
