New PhD student at the IDNC

Alexander Gramm Kristensen began his PhD project entitled: Understanding underlying mechanisms of diabetic polyneuropathy at the Department of Clinical Neurophysiology, Aarhus University Hospital, on 1 September 2016.

Using new neurophysiological methods, patients from the DD2 cohort will be examined. The main goal of the study is to correlate the extent of diabetic neuropathy to the function of specific axonal ion channels. This might lead to an earlier diagnosis of diabetic neuropathy along with a better understanding of the mechanisms behind the disease.
