New AU professor will decode how people act in connection with screenings
Head Consultant Berit Andersen from Aarhus University and Randers Regional Hospital has been appointed Clinical Professor of screening behaviour and organisation of screening programmes.
What makes a person say yes to an offer of e.g. screening for bowel cancer, and what reasons are there for them saying no thanks? This is the focal point of the research that head consultant and newly appointed professor Berit Andersen will carry out in her professorship at the Department of Clinical Medicine at Aarhus University. Berit Andersen, who is head consultant at Randers Regional Hospital, has the task of developing initiatives that can improve screening programmes, increase participation and support people in making an active choice about whether to participate or not. The objective is to create more effective screening programmes, greater satisfaction among the participants and ultimately less ill-health and lower mortality.
Berit Andersen takes up the professorship for the period 1 May 2017 – 30 April 2022.
