Medical student receives the HM Queen Margrethe II Travel Grant

Morten Kelder Skouboe is a medical student and aspiring researcher – and now he is also the recipient of the HM Queen Margrethe II Travel Grant for students at Aarhus University.

Morten Kelder Skouboe is taking his Master’s degree in medicine at Health. Early in his studies he developed an interest in infectious diseases and research. He now conducts research into the sexually transmitted infection herpes.

Morten Kelder Skouboe has e.g. demonstrated that some new immunomodulatory agents cause the cell to produce proteins called interferons, which both protect against the herpes virus and also against infection. Morten Kelder Skouboe received the travel grant at Aarhus University's annual celebration on 15 September 2017. Here he could hear that he is is an extremely dedicated, talented and internationally oriented student with many ongoing activities and great potential.
