Funding for nine research networks across faculties
To strengthen collaboration between departments, schools and faculties, nine research networks have, after an open call, received funding to strengthen and develop activities that transcend the faculty boundaries.
The purpose of the networks is that the researchers can work together across faculty boundaries and develop new ideas and projects e.g. with a view to obtaining external research funding.
The call made it possible to apply for a total of DKK 400,000 in 2015-2016. Thirty excellent applications were submitted by academic staff at Aarhus University.
The network applications were evaluated by the Committee for Research and External Cooperation consisting of the vice-deans for research, talent development and knowledge exchange. At its most recent meeting, the committee decided to allocate funds for the establishment of a total of nine networks. The networks work within the fields of archaeology, cancer, sustainability and atmospheric aerosols (airborne microscopic particles).
The nine networks are:
- Atmospheric Aerosols
- AU STAR - Science & Technology in Archaeological Research
- Maasai Mara Science and Development Action
- Cancer genomics
- Stanford Peace Innovation Lab - NETWORK
- Miljø, kommunikation og bæredygtig omstilling (Environment, communication and sustainable transition)
- AU Air & Health
- AU cross-species center
- LUMEN - Lutheran Mentality and the Nordic
