Extension of hiring freeze in the administration
Aarhus University has extended the modified hiring freeze in the administration until 30 June 30 2015.
The members of the Administration's Liaison Committee (ASU) endorsed the decision to extend the modified hiring freeze in the administration until 16 June 2015 at a meeting on 16 January 2015. The qualified hiring freeze applies to the Rector’s Office, the administrative divisions and the administration centres at the faculties.
The qualified hiring freeze does not apply to:
- Trainee positions and internships
- Positions already advertised as of 1 January 2015
- Cases in which an applicant has already accepted an offer of employment but has not yet started work.
- Temporary positions
As University Director Jane Kraglund explains, “The modified hiring freeze has been extended because the senior management team decided in connection with the 2014 budget that the administration was to be adjusted by an additional 25 million kroner from 2014 to to 2015. The qualified hiring freeze will help make it possible to adjust the university’s finances with the fewest possible consequences for staff.”
The qualified hiring freeze means that positions in the administration will only be advertised externally in exceptional cases.
