DKK five million towards research into the prevention of hereditary heart disease

Associate Professor Henrik Kjærulf Jensen from the Department of Clinical Medicine has received DKK five million from the Novo Nordisk Foundation towards research into the prevention of sudden death caused by hereditary heart disease.

At least 50,000 Danes live with hereditary heart disease which often leads to sudden death from heart failure without prior symptoms. Henrik Kjærulf Jensen's research aims to reduce the risk of unexpected death from heart failure by optimising diagnosis and targeting the treatment of patients with hereditary heart disease.

The Novo Nordisk Foundation Fellowship Award 2018 is awarded to talented Danish and international early career researchers. The DKK five million in the form of a five-year research scholarship will enable Henrik Kjærulf Jensen to improve clinical and molecular-genetic diagnosis and treatment using precision medicine.
