Cross-disciplinary collaboration is a must in the healthcare system
PhD student Andreas Nielsen Hald from the Department of Public Health at Aarhus University receives a grant of DKK 450,000 from the Danish Health Foundation to examine conditions for cross-disciplinary collaboration in the municipal healthcare system.
Increased outsourcing of healthcare services has contributed to a highly specialised but also fragmented municipal healthcare system in Denmark. This has increased the need for different groups of professionals such as e.g. social and health workers, nurses and physiotherapists to find their own foothold in a joint cross-disciplinary collaboration. And the success of this cross-disciplinary collaboration is very often conditional on the conditions under which the employees work.
In his PhD project, which is supported by the Danish Health Foundation’s grant of DKK 450,000, Andreas Nielsen Hald will therefore examine how the different types of conditions affect cross-disciplinary collaboration in the municipal healthcare system. This covers conditions such as e.g. managerial support, patient records and the model for collaboration. The goal is to increase the effectiveness and quality of the municipal care and healthcare services.
