Course: Improve your research communication

How should you communicate your health science research to laymen without compromising on scientific integrity, and do you actually get to approve your quotes before the newspaper goes to print? Get the answers and become a better communicator on Health's media training course in August – your last chance to take this course in 2018.

Health's media training course gives researchers and PhD students training in communicating their own research and results to others than their academic peers. Participants will acquire specific tools for understandable, catchy and responsible research communication that can be used in media contexts – and in other research contexts such as lectures and applications for funding.

The media training course will be held on Tuesday 28 August 2018 9:00 - 16:00 at Aarhus University. The course alternates between presentations and exercises, and participants work on their own research throughout the day. Course topics include:

  • Communication techniques for interesting and responsible research communication
  • Collaborating with journalists – dos and don’ts
  • Interview training in front of a live camera
