Congratulations to Sigrid Thirup Larsen for her new affiliation as Postdoc in Poul Nissen's group
Sigrid will continue her work on Plasma Membrane Calcium ATPases (PMCA) trying to understand their regulatory mechanisms.
Sigrid will continue her work on Plasma Membrane Calcium ATPases (PMCA) trying to understand their regulatory mechanisms. The focus will be to obtain a structural understanding of the autoinhibitory mechanism and alpha synuclein activation using cryo electron microscopy.
PMCA is located in the plasma membrane of eukaryotic cells where it transports calcium across the membrane and out of the cell against a 20.000 fold steep calcium gradient. The protein is important for calcium signaling, which control processes such as muscle contractions, learning and memory.
