Changes to Health's occupational health and safety organisation
A new way of organising the occupational health and safety organisation at Health will see the department heads become the chairs of the local occupational health and safety committees
There is a desire to strengthen the occupational health and safety efforts at Health to ensure a good balance between effectiveness, quality and professionalism. The departments have therefore proposed minor adjustments to the health and safety organisation and these have been adopted by the faculty. These adjustments mean that:
- The department heads will become the chairs of the local occupational health and safety committees (LAMU). The department heads assess whether they themselves or a day-to-day occupational health and safety manager should participate in the faculty's occupational health and safety committee (FAMU).
- The dean becomes chair of FAMU.
- The dean appoints a day-to-day occupational health and safety manager for Health as a whole. This person is affiliated with FAMU as a special occupational health and safety adviser.
The new occupational health and safety organisation at Health will be fully established as of 1 March 2018 and will remain in place until 28 February 2021. Health’s occupational health and safety organisation as of 1 March 2018 can be seen on the staff webpage.
In the first quarter of 2018 there are elections to the occupational health and safety representative positions, while the heads of the occupational health and safety groups and committee will also be appointed at this time. Read more about the election process on the staff webpage.
