Aarhus University has a new Doctor of Medical Science in cardiology
Medical Specialist Michael Rahbek Schmidt from Aarhus University and Aarhus University Hospital is a new Doctor of Medical Science in cardiology.
Michael Rahbek Schmidt carries out research into the protection of the myocardium (the heart or cardiac muscle) in children and adults with metabolic and mechanical intervention. The focal point of his research is improved understanding of methods for protecting the heart, such as e.g. in connection with heart surgery or a blood clot in the heart.
Michael Rahbek Schmidt’s higher doctoral dissertation is entitled “Protecting the immature and mature heart by mechanical and metabolic intervention and remote ischemic conditioning”.
