How to apply and submit a course proposal

When you apply, there are three key documents:

  • your course proposal (upload under "application")
  • your CV
  • your PhD certificate (upload under "diploma")

Please upload the course proposal under "application" in the application system, which you access via the buttons to the right. You are welcome to submit more than one proposal, but please include them in the same file. You do not need to list referees.

The course proposal must contain the following elements:

  • title of the course
  • your name
  • proposed level (bachelor or master)
  • proposed duration (5 or 10 ECTS i.e two or three weeks of teaching)
  • preferred teaching term
  • aim of the course
  • main issues
  • learning objectives and outcomes
  • teaching methodology
  • prerequisites (if any)
  • examples of literature to be used

Selection criteria

Academic qualifications
Candidates are expected to hold a Ph.D degree and will be selected according to their teaching and research experience, and publication record within the field of the proposed course.

Relevance of the proposed course
Relevance of the proposed course is also an important criterion. Specialized courses and courses not already in our teaching portfolio will be preferred.

Teaching periods

Teaching periods for 2019 are as follows:

Term 1

6 July – 17t July (5 ECTS)
6 July - 24  July (10 ECTS)

Term 2

27 July – 7 August (5 ECTS)
27 July - 14 August (10 ECTS)

Please indicate in your course proposal which term you would prefer, and whether you propose a 5 or 10 ECTS course.

You are expected to teach all weekdays, start and end date included. Teaching hours per course is 27 hours for 5 ECTS courses and 54 hours for 10 ECTS courses, which means a daily class schedule of 9-12/9-13. Class sizes range from 20-50 students.

Besides teaching, we expect you to evaluate the written exam and two retakes.

Financial matters

The salary offered is:

  • 6,375 EURO for teaching a 5 ECTS course
  • 8,500 EURO for teaching a 10 ECTS course

We also pay your travel costs (economy class)

 

Application process and deadlines

1 July - 15 August 2020
The online application is open. Please beware of time differences - the application closes at midnight, Danish time, on 15 August.

2 - 6 September 2020
Candidates will be contacted if their course has been selected. Candidates should be prepared to submit an extended course proposal for final approval by Monday 16 September.

16 - 20 September 2020
All candidates will be notified about the outcome of their application.
