Wind Power Summer School - In Cooperation with Vestas Wind Systems A/S & Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy A/S

Are you interested in getting an insight into the latest developments in wind power along with other international and Danish students during your summer vacation?

Aarhus University offers a summer course with focus on wind turbine technology in close cooperation with representatives from the wind power area and industry (Vestas, Siemens Gamesa, Ørsted, Energinet.dk etc.) and DTU Wind Energy. The course is organized by the Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering 

The purpose of the summer course is to enable participants to apply their engineering competences to wind turbine technology problems and gain an insight into the design of wind turbines and the interaction between the different subcomponents and their demand profiles. The summer course’s main focus is on mechanical and power engineering problems.  

Approximately 25 speakers and teachers from Aarhus University, DTU Wind Energy and the cooperating companies participate in teaching the course, which includes several company visits across Denmark.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must be last year Bachelor students or Master students in

·          Electrical Energy Technology

·          Mechanical Engineering

·          Electrical Power Engineering or equivalent

or hold a degree (on at least Bachelor's level) in the areas above.  

Applicants will be selected based on the following five criteria: academic profile, grades, practical experience, proficiency in English and motivation.

Notice: The system will automatically ask for a pre-approval (forhåndsgodkendelse). As an AU student at one of the abovementioned degrees, you don't need a pre-approval. You can upload a confirmation of enrollment (indskrivningsbekræftelse) instead.


Students from other Danish universities: 

·          A pre-approval from your home institution stating that the course you are applying for,

approved and will be inserted into your study programme at your home institution
