Financial Analytics in R

The course will focus on developing statistical models and using simulations to better understand financial data using R, one of the most popular free computer software environments. Upon a successful completion of the course, students will be aware of major financial models related to investments and corporate finance and will be able to write simple code in R to implement the models in real-world scenarios as well as to visualize and analyze financial data.

The grade for the course consists of two parts:

  • Coursework counting app. 40 %
  • 3-hour written exam counting app. 60 %


The written exam is online and presence in Aarhus is not nescessary.

Academic prerequisites

Course specific:

A Bachelor's degree in Economics and Business Administration or a related degree.

Yuriy Zabolotnyuk is Assistant Professor in Finance at Sprott School of Business, Canada. His research interests include fixed income securities, derivatives, portfolio management, corporate finance, and managerial economics.
