Global Entrepreneurship: Opportunities and Ethical Challenges in the Age of AI

This multidisciplinary course explores how formal and informal institutions, economic conditions, cultural norms, and political frameworks shape entrepreneurial activity worldwide. As business ventures increasingly transcend borders, understanding global entrepreneurial ecosystems is essential. Students will examine how entrepreneurs identify and exploit international opportunities, launch and manage cross-border ventures, and navigate diverse market conditions, drawing on insights from marketing, operations, finance, governance, and ethics.

A central theme of the course is the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and ethics in entrepreneurship. Students will explore how AI creates new entrepreneurial opportunities—enabling innovative business models, data-driven decision-making, and access to global markets—while simultaneously presenting ethical challenges. These challenges include algorithmic bias, data privacy, labor and workforce impacts,

environmental sustainability, and broader societal consequences. The course emphasizes how ethical considerations must be integrated into entrepreneurial decision- making, strategy, and governance to create responsible and sustainable ventures.
