Academic Positions

Three year postdoc position in CRISPR technology and immunology 981666

A Three-year position as postdoc at the Department of Biomedicine, Aarhus University, is open for appointment from October 1, 2018 or soon thereafter.

The position is associated with a larger program on innate immunology and virus infections. The successful candidates will be working on a project addressing the mechanisms governing cell death during virus infections and immune-signaling. For this purpose, we will use genome-wide CRISPR screens, cell culture systems, molecular biology/biochemistry, and mouse infection models.

Applicants are expected to have up-dated knowledge on immunology, virology, and cell biology including CRISPR technologies and to have hands-on experience with at least one of these disciplines, including the methodologies involved. Documented expertise with cutting-edge methods of relevance for the project is essential. In addition, the applicants are expected to be able to lead all aspects of the project including target identification, mechanistic characterization, and validation of physiological importance. Therefore, a profound interest in both the methodological and the biological/medical aspects of the project is a selection criterion. Finally, the successful candidate will be working in an independent manner, and must have ambitions and skills to develop the project to the highest international level.
