The Department of Business Development and Technology (BTECH) at Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University invites applications for assistant professorship positions in the following fields:

#1: Industrial engineering, supply chain management and operations

#2: Engineering management and product development

#3: Processes of engineering management: projects, quality, compliance

#4: The digital enterprise

An assistant professorship is a fixed-term three-year position. The starting date is 1 May 2018 or as agreed upon. 

Job description
The successful applicant is expected to contribute significantly to the department’s research and teaching environment. 

The applicant is expected to conduct research of the highest international standard. BTECH has a strong focus on research collaborations with businesses and society, and the applicant is expected to take an active role in these activities. Therefore, applicants with research activities involving industry will be preferred. 

The applicant is expected to teach and supervise students in Bachelor’s and Master’s programs. Our teaching programs in engineering include a MSc in Technology Based Business Development and two Bachelor degree programs: Business Development Engineer (BDE) and Global Management and Manufacturing (GMM)

Qualification requirements
Applicants for an assistant professorship should hold a PhD or equivalent academic qualifications.

Applicants are encouraged to describe how their research is linked to businesses and society. The description could describe concrete collaborations, impact, dissemination activities, etc. 

Who we are
BTECH is a satellite department of Aarhus University located in the business-oriented and entrepreneurial city of Herning. The department excels in business and engineering disciplines and pays particular attention to company collaborations. In 2017, more than 400 students were involved in projects in more than 150 companies ranging from SMEs to leading global companies. Our incubator Business Factory launched more than ten new companies in 2017. 

We influence society through business development and technology. For this reason, many research projects are conducted in close collaboration with industry based on new data and new technologies. These projects are generously supported by H2020, the Danish Research Council and the Danish Industry Foundation, among others.

Terms of employment
The appointment is in accordance with the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff at Danish Universities as well as the circular on the Collective Agreement for Academics Employed by the State.
